Small Changes, Big Impact: Removing Daily Friction

About a year ago, my buddy Gary turned me onto "2 Second Lean," and it's completely changed how I think about daily tasks.

Let me share something that's helping me a ton...

The book introduces this brilliant concept of "fixing what bugs you" - basically, tackling those tiny hassles that are like having a pebble in your shoe.

The ones that are totally bearable but drive you quietly insane.

Take the morning coffee ritual, for example.

The book describes how most of us start our day shuffling around the kitchen like zombies, hunting for beans, filters, and water.

But here's something silly you can do to fix it: place your beans, scoop, and filter next to the coffee maker, premix your sugar & cinnamon in the perfect ratio in a dedicated container, and boom - your morning just got smoother.

Process improved!

Speaking of improvements, I just did something ridiculously simple that's going to save me from a daily annoyance.

As someone who meets with folks (both internal and external) all day long, I've had the same Zoom conference link for about 5 years.

But I kept finding myself in this endless loop of cutting and pasting it for people.

Super annoying, right?

So here's what I did: I bought Jonlive.com for a whopping two bucks (could've been any URL - just needed something easy to say and remember).

Set up a redirect to my permanent Zoom conference room link, and now?

Instead of that copy-paste dance, I just tell people "Go to jonlive.com to join the call with me."

Annoyance?

ELIMINATED.
