We Just Upgraded Our Talent Pool (And It's Still Unlimited)
Here's something most recruiting companies throw away: the incredible candidates who almost got hired.
At Sagan, we see 200+ applications per role. We interview 50. We shortlist 10. We present 3 to our members. One gets hired.
Many of those other candidates are exceptional.
We've already invested time and money screening them. And they're actively looking for work.
So instead of letting them disappear, we built the Talent Pool.
What changed:
For months, we've been collecting feedback from members about what would make the Talent Pool more useful.
The original version was just PDFs dropped into Google Drive. Clunky. Hard to search. No way to know if someone was still available.
Today, we're launching the upgraded version!

Here's what you can do now:
Search by anything: Country, skills, specific software (try searching "Excel" and see what happens)
See availability in real-time: Every candidate shows when they were last confirmed as available
Reserve candidates: When you request an interview, that person is held for you—no bidding wars, no rate inflation
Get notified: Add candidates to your shortlist and we'll ping you if they become available again
Access full profiles: Video intros, summaries, resumes, Q&A—all embedded right in your member portal

One of our members has made 15-20 hires from the Talent Pool. All free. None of it counted against their credits.
The philosophy:

This is our "sawdust"…..valuable byproduct from our core process. These candidates are “expiring assets”. So we built something that lets you move fast.
We used AI-assisted development to build this. Started with a rough prototype, iterated quickly based on what our team learned from member convos.
What's next:
We're going to keep layering in features. Think: talent drops for specific roles, notifications when we add your ideal candidate type, featured talent.
But for now? Go search the pool (if you are a Sagan member). The talent is there. The tool finally matches the quality of the people.

Jon
