Putting People Out of Business

I love the smell of Napalm in the morning. It smells like victory.

I'm excited to share something interesting we're doing with Crane in the property management world… which I think is going to be a model for global talent for many other industries (maybe even yours!).

What is Crane?

Crane is an exclusive, paid community designed specifically for experienced property managers who are determined to streamline operations, drive growth, and maximize profitability. It’s run by my buddy Peter and his partner.

The Old Way vs. The New Way of Global Talent

Historically, property management business owners used to pay $5,000 to $10,000 in bloated fees per global hire OR EVEN WORSE used to pay some staffing markup agency forever, passing a fraction of the collected monthly fee to the people doing the work.

Those days are over.

We've completely flipped the script by partnering with Crane.

Here's how Crane’s new model for global talent works:

  1. Crane members pay $5,000 a year for membership to Crane. This is their standard (awesome) membership. It includes a ton of members benefits - weekly Q&As, exclusive resources, premium content, live events - all sorts of stuff. It is sweet.

  2. Now, THEY BRING GLOBAL TALENT TO THE GAME (with us)

  3. Included in their membership, their members now get (via Sagan):

    • "White-glove" hiring service for just $1,100 per hire. These are for “custom” hires, that Sagan will go source on a custom basis. Controllers, Cold Callers, Accountants, whatever! Just like any normal talent search.

    • Crane members get unlimited (free) direct hiring from a private talent pool with pre-screened/tested/interviewed candidates. There are some roles (like back office) that we already know the Crane community needs in high volume. They will be sourced on a continual basis.

    • Crane members also get 4+ hours/month of process & automation consulting included with membership. LeadSimple, Zapier, etc… for free. (Where do you think Crane got this expert ?)

What’s in it for Crane

Crane was looking for ways to DO MORE and CHARGE MORE to their members. Bundling global talent was a match made in heaven. Crane members can justify the cost of the entire membership, with just what they’ll save on global talent fees alone.

What’s in it for Sagan

We get high volume, high consistency hiring requests from a sophisticated membership - paid in advance! We also get distribution into their members - a percentage of whom will end up also become Sagan members directly.

The Secret Sauce

Crane is essentially buying talent from us in volume, which allows us to set up what we call a "production line" for property management global talent.

A streamlined, efficient process that cuts costs dramatically while MAINTAINING - or even IMPROVING - quality.

It's a win for Crane, a win for their members, and a win for us at Sagan Passport.

Impact on the Industry

Here's where it gets really interesting - and I'll be frank about this.

This model we've developed with Crane is likely going to put a bunch of global talent providers in the property management space out of business.

That sounds harsh, but it's the reality.

This is only possible because the property management industry is so mature when it comes to global talent.

They've hired global talent before, they know how to onboard, how to set expectations.

This maturity in the industry has allowed us to create a model that's so efficient and cost-effective that traditional providers simply won't be able to compete.

It's a testament to how far the industry has come in embracing global talent.

Beyond Property Management: A Model for the Future

Now, here's where things get really exciting.

What we've built with Crane isn’t just relevant for property management.

This model has the potential to change how any industry approaches global talent and and community building.

Let's break it down:

  1. Industry-Specific Talent Pools: Imagine a HVAC mastermind that includes pre-vetted CSRs…or a SaaS community with specialized developers. The possibilities are endless.

  2. Community-Driven Hiring: We're leveraging the power of community to drive down costs and increase quality. This could work for any group of businesses with similar hiring needs.

  3. Bulk Purchasing Power: By buying talent services in bulk, communities can negotiate better rates. This model could apply to any service an industry group commonly needs.

  4. Integrated Member Benefits: The genius of Crane is how they've woven global talent into a comprehensive membership package. Any industry group could adopt this approach, creating a one-stop-shop for their members' needs.

  5. Customized Training: We are developing industry-specific training programs for global talent for each community - software, industry 101, you name it.

The Crane model is just the beginning.

It's a proof of concept.

Now, imagine this same approach in home services, healthcare, education, hospitality, or any other industry you can think of.

We're not just changing how one industry hires.

We're potentially changing how entire professional ecosystems operate.

It's about creating more efficient, more connected, and more prosperous industries across the board.

It's an exciting time to be in this space.

The future of work is community-driven, globally connected, and more accessible than ever before.

The revolution in global talent is here, and it's going to change everything.
