One Playbook, 100 Solutions: Where Should We Go Next?

Greetings earthlings,

I’m looking for your thoughts on what to do with the below - perhaps you might have some clever ideas.

Even if you don’t have any clever ideas - seeing a system like this might help you think about designing better support systems for your global talent.

For the last six months, these materials have been exclusively licensed to Support Shepherd, but now that term is over….so game on!

Problem This Solves:

Everyone wants to hire an remote/high quality/low cost assistant, but taking the time to train & document their tasks & responsibilities is a pain in the butt, and feels like reinventing the wheel.

“Hasn’t someone already written a playbook about the right way to schedule meetings before”?

Yes, someone has, and that someone is me.

In my experience, finding the right global talent is just 30% of the challenge. The real game-changers are systems and technology like the below.

I built this for my own use originally, then did the Support Shepherd deal, and now it is mine again.

The Solution:

Here are some screen shots - there is a TON of stuff.

All built by me, for use by the assistants I use.

I usually promote them quickly, and I got sick of having to retrain!

There are sections to “Train” you (the American) on things like cultural differences, and how to keep your assistant accountable.

There are section to train your global talent on working with Americans.

The heart and soul is about 100 playbooks for how to do things like scheduling, using Notion, and researching topics.

There are about 100 of those - both for the client and the American.

Here is what a specific playbook looks like:

What the heck do you think I should do with them?

Here are a few of my ideas - if any of the below intrigues you, drop me an email:

  1. Obviously I could sell it a la carte via my Twitter & Newsletter. That seems OK, but uninspired.

  2. I could give it away for free, if someone hires their global talent assistant through me, on a managed service basis. It would also include access to this community thing I built and have all my global talent in, which is crazy useful.

  3. I could send a few playbooks out per week, and charge a $199 a month subscription, plus community access and some coaching kinda of thing.

  4. (My current preference) License it to someone else, get a flat fee + royalty, for someone who could use this as a backbone for building a business of hiring global assistants, plus this dope system. I think this would do well with Facebook ads, for example. I could probably also just “sell” it to an entrepreneur for a lump sum.

  5. Something else I’m missing (open to suggestions - send me an email)

Look forward to hearing your ideas, or if you think I’m nuts.

Yallah Habibi,

Jon

Poem of the Week:

Who Are My People

My people?

Who are they?I went into the church where the congregationWorshiped my God.

Were they my people?I felt no kinship to them as they knelt there. My people! Where are they?I went into the land where I was born,Where men spoke my language...I was a stranger there.‘My people,’ my soul cried. ‘Who are my people?’Last night in the rain I met an old manWho spoke a language I do not speak,Which marked him as one who does not know my God.With apologetic smile he offered meThe shelter of his patched umbrella.I met his eyes... And then I knew...
